Ever wondered how our very own Black Caps got to become the greats they are today? Their talents were identified, nurtured and developed by many coaches throughout their playing stages. Coaches are the some of the unsung heroes of today. While being a coach comes with a lot of responsibilities, it also comes with a lot of joy in being able to see the results when the players play. The players look up to their coaches and it would not be the same without one. The club, through Auckland Cricket creates a pathway for you if you want to be a proffesional coach or even just a volunteer coach.
How to start coaching
Coaches usually work with a group of 8-12 kids who are minors, it is the club's priority to ensure security and welbeing of the players. Player security is also New Zealand Cricket's priority and has requested all coaches, volunteers and team managers who work with minors (18 years and below) to register here under Auckland Clubs and choose your relevant role eg coach, manager, etc. under North Shore Cricket Club.
*All including non-coaching volunteers must do the Welfare of Children and Vulnerable Adults Course
Softball (Little League) coaches should sign up for the Foundation Course
Hardball coaches must sign up for the Advanced Foundation Course
Practical modules for these courses will be communicated by the Club Coach Developer once you are done with all your modules.
