Emerging Players Scholarship

PURPOSE OF THE NORTH SHORE CRICKET CLUB EMERGING PLAYERS SCHOLARSHIP:

  1. The Emerging Players Scholarships are intended as a source of potential support to youth cricketers.
  2. Youth players who display impressive potential are able to apply to the club for these scholarships to support them with the costs of initiatives that have the capacity to develop their skills and potential.
  3. The NSCC Scholarship programme is a means of encouraging loyalty towards North Shore Cricket Club amongst youth cricketers intending to play for NSCC after their secondary school cricket years.

VALUE:

A total of up to $2,000 will be offered each year to an undetermined number of players.

ELIGIBILITY:

  1. Youth-aged players (Year 8-13 inclusive) who intend to play for North Shore as a senior.
  2. A player who is awarded a NSCC Emerging Players Scholarship loses the right to it if he/she joins another cricket club.
  3. Applicants will be attending secondary school and be available to participate in some fixtures for North Shore Cricket during summer school break.

APPLICATIONS, NOMINATIONS AND SELECTION:

  1. Applications can be nominated or made by an individual.
  2. Such applications or nominations are to be made to the Club Manager (Gillian Scott - administration@northshorecricket.co.nz) by the end of February. All sections of the application form must be complete.
  3. The NSCC Scholarship Selection Committee is comprised of two NSCC Board members, the Chairman of the Junior Committee and the Club Manager.  Winners will be announced publicly on the last playing day of the season, and at other times as is considered appropriate. 

CONDITIONS OF THE AWARDS:

  1. The scholarship monies must be applied to an initiative that takes place in the 12 months following the application or 6 months prior to the application.
  2. A short written report is to be submitted to the NSCC Scholarship Committee within eight weeks of completing the programme.
