As of 2018, 1977-78, 1982-83 and 1987-88 were the last times North Shore won the Auckland two day Premier championship. This is 40, 35 & 30 years ago respectively.
A reunion was organised (many thanks to Don Fletcher and Campbell Newman) for the weekend of the first pink ball test, NZ v England at Eden Park. Those attending the first session of play were rewarded with what is arguably the best test session by a NZ bowling attack ever. It's hard to imagine England being rolled for 58 is less than a session ever again.
A memorable evening was held on the Saturday with a number of speeches and funny stories told.
The booklet commemorating the event can be downloaded here. Many thanks to Roger Brittenden for his efforts in creating a wonderful memento for all of those attending.
